The villa retains many charming original features including high ceilings, pretty balconies and original mosaic flooring and stylishly combines modern furnishings and beautiful quirky touches to create a luxury and distinctive self-catering retreat.
Guests can enjoy relaxing and socialising in the spacious living room which boasts whitewashed beamed ceilings, blue whitewashed walls and distressed wooden bookshelves, with a sofa and two easy chairs for relaxing. A fantastic open fireplace provides an idyllic atmosphere for warm cosy evenings and doors lead directly out into the private garden which is perfect for summer alfresco dinner parties.
A spacious kitchen diner also boasts fabulous high ceilings, a mosaic floor and lovely whitewashed walls and is conveniently situated off from the living room. The kitchen provides a lively place to prepare and cook meals and is designed with a combination of stylish and rustic appliances and furnishings. Appliances include a large china sink, a gas hob and oven, a coffee machine, toaster and an iconic ‘Smeg’ fridge. A marble topped dining table is situated and French doors pleasantly lead out into the pretty garden.
Guests can enjoy sunbathing on the sun-loungers in the peaceful garden, which features a spacious sunny lawn, pretty olive trees and marvellous mountain views along the western shore.
A beautiful tiled hallway leads to the upper floor where the splendid accommodation is situated. The three bedrooms all boast double beds and making it perfect for travelling couples and grown-up families.
The two principal master bedrooms both feature splendid original tiled floors, pretty buttercup walls and high whitewashed beamed ceilings. Stylish double beds and beautiful modern and antique pieces feature and both principal double rooms enjoy a spacious private balcony with far-reaching lake and mountain views.
The third double bedroom also boasts fantastic proportions and original features as well as a pretty interior ideal for couples.
Two bathrooms are situated in the villa with the principal providing a stylish and spacious space interior for washing with warm stone coloured walls, high beamed ceilings, a polished stone floor and modern bathroom furniture for added comfort and luxury. A roll top bath tub, a large washbasin with wide length mirror, a WC and bidet feature and mountain views can be enjoyed. The second bathroom also boasts high ceilings and is furnished to a high contemporary standard with a power shower, wash basin, WC and bidet. A washing machine provides guests with convenient laundry facilities.
The villa offers a parking facility for guests and it is advised to have the use of a car for your stay due to the hillside location of the property.
PLEASE NOTE that there are quite a number of stone steps that lead to the entrance of the villa.
Faggeto Lario is a quaint and ancient village characterised by medieval cobbled streets, arched passageways and stepped streets with charming townhouses and a historical church overlooking the magnificent mountains and western shore of Lake Como.
Local activities include hiking, cycling, sailing, swimming, boat hire, horse riding and paragliding. Lake Como offers the two excellent Golf Clubs of Vista D’Este and Menaggio & Cadenabbia and the Aero club in Como makes for a memorable tour of the lake from a seaplane.
The village is ideally situated for guests who wish to explore the Lake with the famous resort town of Bellagio with its romantic cafe-lined promenade, ferry service and boutique and local craft shops within easy reach by car in just 30 minutes. The cosmopolitan Lake capital of Como is ideally just a 20 minutes drive away and boasts a wide variety of designer and high street shops, fine dining, the splendid Villa Olmo, a fine Duomo and a fascinating historical Spanish quarter. Transport links are also excellent from Como with a fast and frequent ferry service to the northern Lake resort towns, two train stations with services to Milan and Malpensa airport and excellent motorway routes to the wider Lombardy region and Switzerland.
